On October 19, 2015, a decision rendered by Judge Breyer with the Federal Court in the Northern District of California ruled that the Federal Government may not enforce an injunction against Marin Alliance for Medical Marijuana because to do so would be inconsistent with Congressional Directive Section 538, “The Continuing Appropriations Act of 2016.”  This means that the Department of Justice may not enforce an injunction on a valid California marijuana dispensary or individual cultivator or possessor.  While the case does not set a legal precedent, it is law that will hopefully be upheld on appeal.
